Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna, admits she was ‘not disappointed’ Taylor Swift missed Chiefs vs. Eagles game

Donna Kelce was more focused on her sons, Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, facing off in Monday’s Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles game than Taylor Swift’s absence.

“I’m here to see my sons, so no, I’m not disappointed she’s not here,” the 71-year-old admitted to the Daily Mail at Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri, where the Eagles defeated the Chiefs 21-17.

“She’s wonderful — and when she comes, it’s great — but for me, it’s about them,” she explained.

That said, the Kelce family matriarch acknowledged that she “understands” why people are so invested in the 12-time Grammy winner’s romance with her youngest son.

“It’s a happy story, and I understand people want that,” she said. “I’m just happy for my son.”

The matriarch said she was more focused on cheering on her sons.

Despite reports that Swift, 33, was slated to attend the game alongside her parents, the singer’s plans shifted when she was forced to postpone her concert in Brazil Saturday after a fan died from the extreme heat.

Not only did the schedule change result in her missing the primetime game, but a source told Page Six exclusively that Swift’s holiday plans were also thrown off.

While she was originally supposed to celebrate Thanksgiving in the United States,we reported that the pop star was left “devastated” by the death of her fan Ana Clara Benevides Machado and that the “traumatic” experience took a serious toll on her.

“She’s wonderful … but for me, it’s about them,” Donna told the Daily Mail.

Aside from her absence Monday, Swift has been somewhat of a staple at Chiefs games in recent months, hanging out with both Donna as well as Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce, on numerous occasions.

Donna has tried to stay out of the pair’s relationship, though she recently admitted to WSJ. Magazine that she regrets how some of her comments about the Eras Tour performer have come off.

For instance, during a “Today” show interview in October, the mother of two described meeting Swift as just “OK.”

Swift was expected to be at the game alongside Donna but had to change plans at the last minute.

While the comment came off a little shady to some people, Donna told WSJ. that she still berates herself for the lackluster answer and explained that she was simply trying not to divulge too many details about her son’s dating life.

“He’s happier than I’ve seen him in a long time. … God bless him. He shot for the stars!” she said.

Donna later redeemed herself during an interview with “Good Morning America,” calling Swift “a very nice person” who has made Travis, 34, happier than ever.

Although Travis’ life changed overnight after he started seeing Swift in September, his mom has said he will be just “fine” handling the new levels of fame.

“He likes attention,” Donna joked, noting that the tight end is “embracing” the fame “as much” as he can.

“I think the attention is just part of the whole thing. Obviously, [she] is a megastar,” she added.

Travis also spoke about their whirlwind romance and how he has handled the extra scrutiny during the extensive WSJ. interview.

She is currently on her blockbuster Eras Tour.

“Obviously I have never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them … I’ve never dealt with it,” he said. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.”

He noted that if Swift can handle having a “magnifying glass on her every single day” while continuing to “enjoy” life, then so can he.

“When she acts like that, I better not be the one acting all strange,” Travis said.
