Travis Kelce thinks about retiring from football “more than anyone could ever imagine.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who is a two-time Super Bowl champion, admitted to WSJ. Magazine in an interview published Monday that his injuries plague him on and off the field.
“That’s the only thing I’ve never really been open about,” he told the publication.
“The discomfort. The pain. The lingering injuries — the 10 surgeries I’ve had that I still feel every single surgery to this day.”
Kelce, 34, has been in the NFL since he was drafted by the Chiefs in 2013, but even though the thought of retirement appeals to him, the athlete doesn’t appear totally ready to give up the pigskin.
Before joining the NFL, Kelce played college football at the University of Cincinnati, where he was suspended for smoking marijuana.
“It was like my life was over,” he told the magazine while reflecting on the incident.
The “New Heights” podcast co-host’s retirement reflections come as his relationship with Taylor Swift becomes more serious — as does the media coverage.
“Obviously I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them. … I’ve never dealt with it,” he said.
“But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it…. The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life.”

He added, “When she acts like that, I better not be the one acting all strange.”
Kelce also finally revealed how he and the “Cruel Summer” performer, 33, began dating, explaining that they had, in fact, gone to dinner before she made her first appearance in the Chiefs suite in September.
“When I met her in New York, we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there,” he shared.
Since then, Swift has appeared at multiple football games, and Kelce even flew to South America to watch the pop star perform in Argentina.
Although there were rumors that the “Lover” singer could spend Thanksgiving with Kelce, a source told Page Six exclusively that her plans were upended following the tragic death of one of her fans during her performance in sweltering Brazil over the weekend.
“She is devastated about a fan dying. The weather is extreme,” our source shared.
“It’s a mess she didn’t expect. It’s been a traumatic experience. It’s been a lot.”
