Tokyo Design Studio and New Balance Return With New Pitch Low-Top Trainers

After dropping off a line of genderless loungewear and accessories, Tokyo Design Studio and New Balance are expanding on their collaboration with the release of their all-new Pitch Low-Top Trainers.

With a utility-first design ethos, the silhouette opts for a contemporary construction inspired by the Japanese proverb, “Not seeing is a flower (見ぬが花).” The collaboration prioritizes four pillars — precision, nature, sports craft and protection — with the ultimate goal of creating products that boast a “simple aesthetic.”

The latest 610 fuses suede, neoprene and mesh panels in hues of grey and brown. The varying textiles mingle across the shoe’s upper construction to form an abstract wrap around the top of the foot, while the rubber sole supplies sufficient traction with a rigid facade. The signature New Balance iconography resides at the vamp, while a padded collar keeps comfort a priority and a heel-based pull-loop makes it easy to slip into the design’s mesh lining.

The Tokyo Design x New Balance Pitch Low-Top Trainers will be available to shop on November 17 via New Balance’s webstore. Price details are not yet available. Take a closer look at the design in the gallery above.
