Teyana Taylor secretly filed to divorce Iman Shumpert, accuses him of being a jealous narcissist

Teyana Taylor secretly filed for divorce from estranged husband Iman Shumpert in January.

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ Wednesday, the “Bare Wit Me” singer accused the former NBA player of being a jealous emotional abuser who was insecure about her fame.

She alleged her ex was “treating her cruelly and displaying extreme narcissistic behavior throughout the majority of their marriage.”

Taylor — who wed Shumpert in 2016 — decided to end their marriage earlier this year because she was “unable to handle the emotional rollercoaster,” per the outlet.

She also claimed she received “condescending and manipulative” messages from the retired athlete about her career.

As he “became more and more angry,” she even “began to intentionally dim her light for her husband to try to have a harmonious and peaceful marriage,” the documents state, per TMZ.

The “Coming 2 America” actress, 32, further alleged Shumpert, 33, would become annoyed when they attended public events together and photographers would ask him to step aside to take solo pictures of her.

Tayler also claimed that she turned down several work opportunities because her estranged husband “did not want her to work.”

Despite Shumpert making more money than her with multi-million dollar NBA contracts, the singer alleged he was still insecure.

When the basketball star’s career started to dwindle, the “A Thousand and One” star said she attempted to get him jobs as an actor, but he wasn’t interested.

Ultimately, Taylor claimed the bickering led her to start the divorce process in 2021 — the same year Shumpert officially retired from the NBA.

While his time off helped them reconcile, it was only temporary because she claimed he “remained in an insecure state as his NBA career continued to wind down.”

Taylor — who shares daughters Junie, 7, and Rue, 3, with Shumpert — claimed that she tried to salvage her marriage while living in an “extremely” abusive environment.

In the docs, she also accused Shumpert of cheating on her several times.

The “White Men Can’t Jump” star confirmed their split on Instagram in September.

At the time, she insisted there was no cheating.

“AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie! In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while,” she captioned a photo of herself and Shumpert.

“To be 1000% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children.”

Tayler added that she wished to “successfully & peacefully separate” from Shumpert without extra noise from her fans.

The former couple revealed they were dating in June 2014 with a steamy beach snap.

They secretly tied the knot two years later.
