Shygirl was sadly forced to cancel her co-headlining tour with Tinashe last month after learning that she would have to undergo surgery for a respiratory condition. While fans are disappointed they won’t be able to see the British artist perform, Shygirl hasn’t left them hanging.
The singer and producer returned with a new track called “thicc.” The song sees her team up with the singer Cosha and producers Karma Kid and Sega Bodega.
Shygirl shared that she had created the single while working on her debut LP Nymph, though it didn’t end up making the cut for that project. It also happens to be the first single she’s put out since Nymph in September 2022.
“I’ve enjoyed teasing this one at festivals and shows while still in demo mode for over a year already with the idea of somehow infusing the energy of the crowd into this final version of the song — ”thicc” is fun and carefree and definitely a tease—all the classic traits of club shy infused into one track,” she said.
