While best known for being Michael Jordan’s line under Nike, Jordan Brand has grown to include a myriad of athletes. Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura, having signed with Jordan Brand alongside Jayson Tatum in 2019, has played a key role in various promotional campaigns with the Jumpman team. While he’s yet to receive his own signature shoe, Hachimura has worked closely with Jordan Brand to create PEs on Air Jordans, often utilizing each year’s newest model.
With the Air Jordan 38 serving as 2023’s newest entry in the Air Jordan series, Hachimura is following up on his work on the Air Jordan 37 last year by again nodding to his Japanese heritage. The primarily-gray upper utilizes tonal patterning around the heel of the shoe, including a floral print at the collar. A bright red enlivens the colorway at the piping and interior of the tongue while Hachimura’s logo is stamped at the left shoe’s tongue in black. Looking to the heel, a black Jumpman logo is depicted above the complex sole unit that combines a speckled black with red and a semi-translucent jade green.
At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not disclosed any release details pertaining to this Air Jordan 38 PE for Rui Hachimura. Stay tuned for updates as it’s likely to touch down on shelves via Nike SNKRS and select retailers in the coming months of the 2023-24 NBA season.
