Prince Harry made an appearance in a 75th birthday tribute to King Charles III despite the father-son duo’s estrangement.
The royal family’s official Instagram account shared a series of photos from Charles’ life Tuesday, including a few memories from Harry’s childhood.
One photo showed the prince on the day he was born in 1984 with his dad and late mother, Princess Diana.
A second snap featured a youthful Harry hitting the slopes with Charles on a ski trip, and another showed them smiling at a royal event in 1996.
“👑🎂 Wishing His Majesty The King a happy 75th birthday,” the family captioned the montage.
Interestingly, none of the photos featured Harry, 36, and his estranged brother, Prince William, together with their father.
While Harry will not be attending any of Charles’ birthday festivities, he is expected to make a phone call to his dad to wish him a happy birthday.
Sources told the BBC that the Duke of Sussex will call the reigning monarch Tuesday, with the outlet noting that the move could be seen as an olive branch after he was snubbed from in-person celebrations.
Reports claimed earlier this month that Harry would be skipping Charles’ birthday party, but the “Spare” author later said he never got an invitation in the first place.
“In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday,” Harry’s spokesperson told the Messenger.
“It is disappointing the Sunday Times has misreported this story.”
A royal source also told the website that Buckingham Palace “never reached out” to Harry.
Charles will celebrate his milestone birthday by hosting a reception for NHS nurses and midwives.
He also commemorated the occasion by launching a new foundation, Coronation Food Project, which the family’s Instagram described as “a groundbreaking initiative to help reduce food waste and support those living in food insecurity.”

Harry has not seen his family since attending Charles’ coronation without his wife, Meghan Markle, in May. And even then, he didn’t interact with Charles or the Prince of Wales, 41, and left immediately after the event was done.
The Invictus Games founder has been on the outs with Charles and William since he and Markle, 42, resigned from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to Montecito, Calif., where they now live with their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
Harry then made matters worse when he criticized his dad in his memoir, painting him out to be cold and unaffectionate.
He wrote in his book that Charles didn’t hug him after sharing the news that Diana died in a car crash in 1997. Harry also claimed his father said his “job was done” after his youngest son was born and he produced an alternate heir to the British throne.
Despite the tension, sources have claimed that Charles wants nothing more than to make nice with Harry — but for strategic purposes.
“Ultimately Charles has not just a personal but also a strategic need to resolve the issue,” a former palace staffer told the Daily Beast last month.
“It’s not sustainable for the king, who is the national symbol of unity, to be on such bad terms with his son.”
