On-Foot Look at the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Court Purple”

Update: Popping up back in October, the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Court Purple” is one of two colorways that have surfaced thus far with the late Kobe Bryant’s two jersey numbers, 8 and 24, spread throughout the upper of the Nike Kobe 8 Protro. After an initial preview surfaced last month, we now have an on-foot breakdown of the “Court Purple” iteration as it remains anticipated for a February 8 launch via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a $190 USD price point.

Original Story: Fans of the partnership between Nike Basketball and Kobe Bryant better be preparing their wallets because the Nike Kobe line is back and poised to strike with an onslaught of releases across the coming years. One silhouette that has already made noise courtesy of its Kobe Day release is the Nike Kobe 8 Protro. Looking ahead to 2023, it recently appeared in a “Radiant Emerald” finish that features teal hits, including the repeated use of “8” and “24” callouts.

Now, a complementary pair has been previewed in “Court Purple.” It utilizes the same arrangement as the “Radiant Emerald” colorway, swapping the blue-green hue for a deep purple that accents the white base. Joining the “8” and “24” notes spread throughout the upper, Swooshes at each side and the Nike Kobe logo at the tongue and heel further tie it to the late superstar. Supporting the sneaker, a white midsole rests atop a semi-translucent purple outsole.

We’ve yet to receive official word from Nike Basketball regarding the release of the Kobe 8 Protro in this “Court Purple” presentation. Stay tuned for updates as it’s currently expected to launch on February 8 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $180 USD.
