Dior Men’s lands in Hong Kong. The news comes just days before another LVMH brand, namely Louis Vuitton will present its Pre-Fall 2024 show by Pharrell Williams in the city.
Dior has announced that for this pre-fall collection Kim Jones will be travelling to Hong Kong in Q1 of 2024 to present the show. Dior shared with Hypebeast,
“During the first semester of 2024, the House will reveal, in Hong Kong, the Fall 2024 men’s collection dreamed up by Kim Jones. After Tokyo, Miami, London, Los Angeles and Cairo, this destination once again celebrates the Artistic Director’s passion for travel and world cultures – so dear to Monsieur Dior.”
The event marks Dior’s return to Hong Kong after it staged its women’s haute couture show in 2014 as well as a menswear presentation in 2016. The fashion house has been in the Hong Kong market since 1980, with the house having 11 boutiques in the city, six of which feature the menswear line. With two of LVMH’s biggest luxury fashion brands hosting their shows in Hong Kong, the city emerges from a challenging period that saw protests and COVID-19 take over the city.
Later this week, Pharrell is set to present his Louis Vuitton show at K11 Musea, a luxury lifestyle complex founded by Adrian Cheng’s New World Development. Dior has not yet confirmed the date and location of the show. Kim Jones will still be presenting a new collection in the upcoming Men’s Paris Fashion Week in January 2024.
