HYPEBEAST Presents Audemars Piguet’s Mini Music Series: Part 1

In the world of creativity and artisanship, the search for breakthroughs remains to be the eternal driving force for artists. With a passion for fostering human talent and bringing people together, Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has collaborated with Hypebeast to curate a Mini Music Series, and invited a number of emerging musicians to challenge themselves to transform their own music from one genre to another, to push boundaries and demonstrate the boundless potential of music production.

The first featured artist of this mini-series, Tyson Yoshi, is a Hong Kong independent musician, one of the next generation’s groundbreakers in the local music realm. Tyson Yoshi gained popularity on YouTube with his single ‘Christy.’ His main style of music composition is influenced by his experiences at a UK boarding school. Upon his return to Hong Kong, he pursued a career in music production to explore ways of departing from the conventional limits of traditional Cantonese pop music by blending in his preferred components of hip-hop, pop, dance music, and alternative music.

In this Mini Music Series, Tyson Yoshi remixed a popular romantic ballad, ‘Be Mine,’ from his new album. He incorporated electronic dance music elements into the remix, calling to his passion for EDM music. These included delay and reverb effects, tighter drumbeats, and more pronounced and distinctive harmonies. These modifications transformed this light-hearted love piece into a potent, electronic dance track that enabled fans to relive the same heartwarming love story in a lively and dynamic ambiance.

The Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding 42 mm Chronograph worn by Tyson Yoshi was launched this year to commemorate the original model from three decades ago, celebrating the collection’s 30th anniversary. Despite the initial controversies over its price and oversized, muscular design, the original Royal Oak Offshore quickly appealed to a younger audience and captured the hearts of athletes and celebrities around the world. It has remained a popular collection to this day. This new edition is housed in the collection’s first all-black ceramic case and paired with a matching bracelet and a black Petite Tapisserie dial for an unprecedented monochrome look.
