Past meets present in Nike‘s retro-inspired runner, the P-6000. As a fusion between early 2000s silhouettes, such as the Air Pegasus and the Zoom Vomero, the hybrid design carries the techno-futurist aesthetic of the Y2K era, while offering subtle but striking complementary details that brings the shoe firmly into modern sneaker sensibilities.
Other than the “Athletic Department” iteration that released to begin this year, Nike has largely kept the P-6000 reserved to neutral colorways, and the latest to join the line is no different. The shoe’s upper is dressed in an elegant “Sail” hue in a breathable mesh material, along with durable tonal overlays across the base. Further highlights include lime branding accents at the toe box, heel counter, and sole plate, as well as a reflective 3M material at each end of the shoe to give it an extra jolt at night.
Unlike past releases, the latest P-6000 will also sport a toggle lacing system for a contemporary look and feel. Nike has yet to set an official release date for the “Sail” colorway, but expect the shoe to drop by end of this year or early next for $120 USD.
