Last week, on November 10, Los Angeles-based Born X Raised released an archival collection that featured a mix of revived and remixed styles, along with a few brand-new styles.
Notable items included the return of the “8-Ball Party Wizard” tee with a coordinating New Era fitted cap, signature logo hoodies and crewneck, as well as a shirt commemorating founder Alex “2Tone” Erdmann’s Shih Tzu Omar. In addition to these items, the drop also included a now sold-out Dr. Martens collaboration.
The collab utilized the Dr. Martens Original 1461 3-eye shoe as the canvas for its design. Retooled by Born X Raised, the shoe was constructed using Vintage Smooth black leather with a contrasting biscuit-colored base and laser-etched spiderwebs, crosses and BXR logo details — all of which sit on top of a smoke DMS outsole with signature yellow stitching.
To make the collaboration all the more significant, the campaign was shot by 2Tone and featured friends of the brand rapper Buddy, jewelry designer Georgina Trevino and artist Devin Reynolds.
