Vanessa Bryant has slammed Meek Mill over his leaked song that references Kobe Bryant’s tragic helicopter crash.
The leaked song, “Don’t Worry,” features fellow rapper Lil Baby and includes the lyric, “If I ever lack I’m goin’ out with my choppa, it be another Kobe.”
Fans already expressed their ire at the line, and now the late NBA star’s widow has taken to Instagram to call the words “disrespectful.”
“Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period,” Vanessa, 38, wrote on her Instagram Story late Monday. “I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this.”
She continued, “If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”
Mill, 33, previously shot down critics who called him out for the line in a bizarre response, tweeting, “Somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it…. y’all internet antics cannot stop me …. s–t like zombie land or something! Lol.”
He later added, “They paying to influence y’all now… its almost like mind control ‘wake up.’”
In January 2020, Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, were among the nine people who died in a helicopter crash in California. The NBA superstar was 41 years old.
Kobe is survived by Vanessa and their daughters Natalia, 18, Bianka, 4, and Capri, 1.
