Nottingham-based contemporary label Universal Works has connected with Japanese footwear brand Flower Mountain to present a seasonal footwear and apparel collection.
Quickly following up on its recently-dropped “Space Cowboy” collection — a capsule that took inspiration from American landscapes and the British coastline — UW’s latest drop is a selection of dual-branded clothing and footwear that sit alongside the wider Universal Works Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
The new collaboration reflects on UW’s seasonal moods, while it also takes wider inspiration from the great American landscapes and walks on the British coastline. With this in mind, the four new collaborative footwear styles come in various combinations of suede, leather, and cloud-print nylon. Furthermore, the collaboration also welcomes two variations of the Yamono 3 and Camp styles, with both complemented with neutral tones that are designed to partner up with UW’s SS23 line.
Meanwhile, the new apparel line includes a selection of jackets, shirts, shorts, T-shirts, and sweaters. Throughout this, many styles have been designed with embroidered Japanese and western typography — more specifically the motifs that highlight the collaborative efforts of Universal Works and the Dandelion Mountaineering Association, a much-loved theme of the Flower Mountain brand, all unified under a co-branded label.
You can take a closer look at the new collection from Universal Works and Flower Mountain above and it is available to shop via the official Universal Works website now.
