The social media superstar and fitness model rose to fame for her transparent views on sexuality. As well as for showing off her attractive figure. Despite some who disagree with Renner’s opinions over the years, she remains firmly planted in who she is and is taking the time to share more of her “truth.”

Brittany Renner Reflects On Criticism She Received While Dating Washington

During the interview, Thembi questioned Renner about the criticism she received during her former relationship with NBA player PJ Washington. At the time Renner was 26 years old and Washington was 18.

Additionally, many people viewed her as “trying to catch a come-up.”

I’ve always wanted a relationship, I’ve always been a one-man woman. I think a lot of that narrative is from when he tweeted, ‘You were faking it all along.’ And he never came to my aid. So who are you going to believe? Him or me? And I’ve done nothing but play up this narrative that people think — he knows that. But why would he come to my aid if he’s upset with me?

The 31-year-old went on to explain that, unfortunately, she had to accept the criticism from the world. But says she can’t understand why people continue to hold the same view about her today.

I don’t know why people even still think the way that they do about that situation. I love my child’s father to death. I don’t want to be with him. And our son was planned. I thought that was my guy. I guess foolish of me for thinking someone who’s only six years younger than me — let’s not even get into the age gap… I just genuinely thought that was my person who understood and saw me for me cause he never judged me. That’s how it appeared — that’s obviously not true.

Renner went on to reiterate that if she did want “to catch a come-up” financially from any man, she could’ve done so but never did.

Brittany Renner Was Accused Of “Grooming” Washington During Their Relationship

As The Shade Room previously reported, Brittany Renner was accused of “grooming” PJ Washington during their relationship. She was even accused of intentionally “trapping” the professional basketball player when she became pregnant with their son.

However, Renner has always denied the accusations. In an exclusive interview with DJ Akademiks, she explained that she was on birth control while dating Washington and it was actually him who wanted her to have his child.

She told Akademiks, recalling a conversation she had with Washington about having a child. Then went on to share her surprise at the world not criticizing other celebrity couples like Jay-Z and Beyoncé for their age gap.

Two Kentucky co-workers hit the jackpot on a scratch-off lottery ticket during their break, the state lottery revealed on Tuesday.

Valu Market cashiers Tyesha Trice and Dylan Mitchell decided to purchase two scratch-off tickets on a whim earlier this week, according to CBS News.

Co-Workers Split A Pair Of Lottery Scratch-Off Tickets On A Whim, And Win Money On Both

The first one, a $30 ticket, won them $100 prompting the duo to buy another, this one being a $50 500x ticket.

“We were excited about the first win,” the co-workers said in a press release. “We even did a little fist bump.”

Their luck continued after discovering they won $500 after scratching the first spot. But their luck did not run out just yet.

After scratching off the rest of the spots on the second ticket, they noticed they won $50,000, leaving them with $17,875 each after taxes, the outlet reports.

“I saw the second one and thought I was going to pass out,” Trice said.

Florida Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Ticket After Being Cut In Line At Ticket Counter

Last month, The Shade Room reported that a Florida man won a $1 million on a lottery ticket he bought after being cut in line by a rude customer.

Stephen Munoz Espinoza said he was exhausted following a day of work and was looking to buy a lottery ticket when he was cut in line at the ticket machine.

Espinoza, 43, ultimately decided to avoid a confrontation with the other lotto customer, and opted to instead buy his ticket at the counter inside Publix Super Market, the New York Post reports.

He says it had been a long day and was too tired to confront the line-skipper over taking his place at the ticket machine.

Detroit Woman Won $100,000 From State Lottery After Taking Break From A “Tough Day”

Meanwhile, earlier this month, a Detroit woman won a $100,000 from the state lottery after taking a break from a difficult day.

Jamila McCaskill just wanted a break from her “tough day.” So to relax, she started playing the lottery online and turned that frown upside down when she won $100,000.

According to local outlet Centre Daily Times, McCaskill recently pocketed $71,750 of her Michigan Lottery prize after taxes. She plans to use the funds to pay off her home and other bills.

Honey Boo Boo Boyfriend Is Accused Of Evading Authorities

The situation unfolded on Tuesday, and People reports that it all began after an officer ran Dralin’s car tags in Monroe County, Georgia, and found that he had a warrant for his arrest.

In response to the officer trying to make a traffic stop, however, Dralin’s accused of hitting the gas and taking authorities on a three-mile-long pursuit. Authorities were eventually able to disable the vehicle, and they arrested Dralin for fleeing and driving under the influence.

We should note that Alana, 17, was not arrested—though her older sister reportedly had to go pick her up from Monroe County Jail.

The Couple Was Allegedly Ridin’ Dirty

Shortly after the initial news, further details were published by The Sun. Specifically, the outlet cited police records and noted that a vehicle search uncovered an unregistered gun and a bag of cannabis.

Additionally, during the chase, the outlet reports that Dralin allegedly “ran one car off the roadway.”

Ultimately, the 21-year-old was ultimately held on $25,000 bond, and it’s unclear when he’ll be due in court.

People Have Long Given The Relationship The Side-Eye

As The Shade Room previously reported, people have long expressed their concerns about the relationship, as Dralin is 21 while Alana is only 17.

Alana addressed the backlash against the relationship during a sit-down with Entertainment Tonight back in July, and she also noted that—aside from their age gap—them being an interracial couple gets hate, too.

“In our relationship, the two most things that everybody is always talking about is our age gap and definitely because he’s Black and I’m white and we’re an interracial couple.”

However, Alana made it clear that she isn’t preoccupied with the backlash, as their families approve of the relationship.

“I don’t care because, like, at the end of the day, my sister approves, his mom approves, and we’re happy, so what fans got to say or what haters got to say I don’t really care.”

Jadakiss is sharing his thoughts on the subject of violence within rap, and he says that, while the artists themselves typically get the blame, the record labels bear some responsibility as well.

Jadakiss Says The Violence Against Rappers Is ‘Preventable’

The matter came up during Jadakiss’ recent appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast. After speaking on how the lives of artists like Pop Smoke, Takeoff, and PnB Rock were violently cut short, Jadakiss remarked that the matter is “sickening” and “preventable.”

“It’s sickening. It’s disgusting to see some of these young kids losing their lives over some of this stuff. I think it’s preventable.”

He was then implored to deliver “one bit of advice to this generation” of rappers, and he simply said to not “get caught up in being lit,” as they’ve “gotta think about the future.”

“Don’t get caught up in being lit. You’ve gotta think about the future. Think about when you got’ be a family man. Think about your kids, think about your mom. Think about your staff, think about your crew. Think about yourself and everything you affect when it goes all wrong.”

He Asserts That Record Labels Bear Some Of The Blame

However, co-host Brandon Marshall proceeded to bring up how some artists may find it better to “lean into the violence” for the sake of engagement and numbers.

In response, Jadakiss spoke on how record labels deserve to be held responsible for the prevalence of violent rap lyrics, as they’re “being successful off nonsense” that gets brought into the studio.

“Record labels are being successful off nonsense. Somebody went out, did something stupid, recorded a song about it, and it was able to get a lot of streams, and that became a thing with the whole Drill [scene]. They actually going out, gettin’ active and doin’ stuff and then go into the studio and make a song about what they just did.”

He went on to note that this content “should get nipped in the bud as soon as it [gets] created.”

“That should get nipped in the bud as soon as it got created. But nobody’s going to these labels saying they wrong for this.”

So, rather than “just blaming the kids,” Jadakiss said that the labels signing these artists should take some of the heat, too.

“We just blaming it on the kids. So, like my brother Styles [P] said, he don’t like to just put all the blame on these young artists because the radio stations are making them the top songs of the playlist. And the labels are still signing them.”

Jadakiss Brings Up Labels Taking Life Insurance Policies Out On Artists

After making these comments, Jadakiss went on to bring up how “labels [are] puttin’ out life insurance policies on these young kids now.”

If fact, he went as far as to say, “They gamblin’ on you to do something dumb so they can profit after you die.”

Earlier this week Travis Scott was named a suspect after being accused of punching someone and then damaging property, which was described as someone’s cellphone.

Now in a new video obtained by TMZ, Travis could be seen behind the DJ booth at Nebula in New York City, and while being recorded by a fan, the fan video appears to show him grabbing the phone before the video came to an end.

The owner of the phone told the site that Travis allegedly tossed the phone, hitting him in the head and cracking the screen.

As previously reported, the sound engineer that accused Travis of assaulting him spoke out about the incident and said he suffered a neck injury. Travis’ attorney Mitchell Schuster spoke to TMZ about the incident.

“While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”

It is alleged that the rapper also went on to cause approximately $12,000 of damage to a speaker and video screen before fleeing the club.

The official report for the incident is for an assault and criminal mischief, and officials were looking to speak with Travis and his team as of Wednesday.

It’s been about five months since Shanquella Robinson was killed while on vacation in Mexico with a group of friends, and justice has still managed to elude her family, and now her family is asking President Biden, the U.S. State Department, and other high-level diplomats to intervene.

On Friday, Robinson’s parents held a press conference in Washington D.C. to demand justice for their murdered daughter, whose body was found back in October 2022 inside the villa she and the group she was traveling with had been staying at.

“I don’t wish this nightmare on anyone. My daughter was beat to death on video,” Robinson’s mother Salamondra told the crowd. “I can hardly talked about it. No one has been arrested and my family is left to wait and beg for answers. Im here as an American citizen to call upon the President to get justice for my daughter.”

Ben Crump, the regional director of the NAACP and others stood aside the family and began the rally with chants of “justice for Shanquella Robinson!” which was met with loud chants back from the crowd.

Crump then gave a brief background on the case of the slain 25-year-old, highlighting all of the things Shanquella accomplished in her short life.

“It’s been 126 days since she died. with video of her being beaten literally to death being released 15 weeks ago, and STILL with all this visual evidence, NO one has been arrested!” Crump bellowed. “We will show up whether the murderers are Black or white! It doesn’t matter!”

Crump then spoke on the suspected culprit behind the “Cabo Six” and Shanquella’s murder, Dejanae Johnson, who has had a warrant for her arrest filed in Mexico The Shade Room previously reported, but remains free to this day.

Crump Echoes Family’s Call For Diplomatic Intervention: “When A White Woman Goes Missing, It’s Not Hard” To Get Justice

Crump echoed Salamondra’s call for diplomatic intervention from President Biden to bring justice to those who are responsible for the death of Shanquella Robinson.

“We are asking for high-level diplomatic intervention from President Biden and the State Department to bring justice to the person or persons responsible for her death,” Crump said. “It is not a hard act, when a white woman goes missing, it’s not a hard act” to gain justice.

Crump added: “We have been advised that the Mexican authorities have not been doing their job. “We have to go above and beyond to get justice as Black people.”

Mexican Authorities Have Advised Robinson’s Family That Their Investigation Is Complete, “But Suspect(s) Still Roam Free”

He went on to say that Mexican authorities have advised the family and their council that their investigation is complete, “but their suspect is still roaming free in the United States, sleeping comfortably in their own beds at night.”

“The U.S. government needs to do one of two things, extradite the person who murdered Shanquella to Mexico to face the charges and the crimes alleged against her, or two, take jurisdiction from Mexico to bring a case for those responsible and bring this family justice.”

“The State Department, President Biden, what are you going to do to bring justice for this poor woman (Shanquella’s mother). It’s simple,” Crump went on to say.

Co-council Sue-Ann Robinson, of no relation to Shanquella, was praised by Crump for going to Mexico on her own dime to collect evidence against her killer or killers.

“Shanquella was a beautiful woman, an entrepreuner,” she said. “No one should have to suffer the indignities that she did. For me to have to go down there to collect evidence, trying to find answers for this family, no one should have to do that. the family is not asking for anything special. they’re just asking for their government to intervene for a murder we all saw took place on video.”

Civil Rights Activist Tamika Mallory Compares Shanquella To Natalee Holloway, Gabby Petito

Civil Rights activist Tamika Mallory also spoke at Friday’s rally and echoed those sentiments, comparing the situations to that of Natalee Holloway and Gabby Petito, two white women who had widespread media coverage in the wake of their disappearances and deaths.

“There was not a fight on that video, there was an attack. While she was naked, while they joked. The continued to allow her to be beaten, and her neck and spine was broken. She came home in a box!”

Mallory called on U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and Vice President Kamala Harris as Black people to “move expeditiously and use their resources” to get justice for Shanquella’s family.

The group went on to say that they have filed letters, in pink envelopes, to the State Department and President Biden, and said they will continue to hold rallies and press conferences and make noise until justice for Shanquella is served.

The Purchase Expands Oprah Winfrey’s Mark On The Island

According to the outlet, the purchase adds to the 100-plus acres that Oprah Winfrey already owns on the island.

KITV4 obtained the sales deed for Winfrey’s transaction and reported that the purchase cost the media mogul “nearly $6.6 million.” Additionally, Winfrey purchased the 870 acres of “agriculturally-zoned land from Hawaii-based seller Ulupalakua Ranch.”

According to Maui Now, Winfrey’s purchase took place over several months. The media mogul reportedly purchased four parcels of land in total and two were most recently sold to her on February 10. The two parcels consisted of 520 acres which sold for $3.89 million and 330 acres which sold for $2.47 million.

Another two parcels of 10 acres each were sold to Winfrey on Dec. 30, 2022, for $100,000 apiece.

The purchase was made from Winfrey’s Los Angeles-based company, Harpo Inc.

According to the Hawaii-based outlet, Winfrey has been a part-time Maui, Hawaii island resident for the past 15 years. She was most recently seen hiking with a group of friends on the Hawaii island of Kauai in January.

Oprah Winfrey’s massive purchase of the land in Kalu could spark a reaction from Hawaii residents. When the media mogul shared the above clip of her and King hiking on the ground earlier this year, she could be heard telling viewers to move to the island. Additionally, many social media users — some Hawaii residents — responded by calling the 69-year-old “out of touch.”

Tennessee police officer Maegan Hall is claiming she is a victim of the alleged sexual misconduct that got her fired. Hall has broken her silence after news broke of a sex scandal involving multiple fellow cops within her department and says she was “sexually groomed” by her superiors.

Speaking publicly for the first time, Maegan Hall told WTVF that she repeatedly attempted to thwart the sexual advances of Sgt. Lewis Powell at the La Vergne Police Department, but added “he wouldn’t take no for an answer.”

Hall Says She “Gave In From The Pressure” After Being “Sexually Groomed” By Fellow Male Officers

Hall – who is married – said the affair with Sgt. Powell eventually led to sexual relationships with five other cop after she “gave in from the pressure.”

“I know what most people are saying,” Hall told the outlet. “You know, ‘You could’ve said no.’ I get it. But my response to them is ‘I did say no, and he wouldn’t take it for an answer.’ Eventually, I gave in from pressure.”

On Monday, Hall filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the department and several members of its top brass, with Hall claiming she was “sexually groomed.”

Disgraced Cop Blamed Workplace Trysts On Troubled Marriage, Accuses Department Of “Not Protecting Me”

The 26-year-old blamed the workplace trysts on her troubled marriage, and added that she was specifically targeted by the department’s second shift of which she worked, which was otherwise an all-male unit.

She said that the department “described the environment as a family” when she was interviewing for the job, but that when it came down to it, they were “not protecting me,” the outlet reports.

“When I was interviewing for the position at La Vergne Police Department, they described the environment as a family,” she told the outlet. “However, while I was aspiring to protect my community, the La Vergne Police Department was not protecting me.”

Hall Says Supervisors Worked Together “To Take Advantage Of Her Vulnerabilities And Mental Health”

Hall went on to accuse her supervisors of working together to “take advantage of my vulnerabilities and mental health” issues to elicit sexual favors.

“My supervisors worked together to take advantage of my vulnerabilities and my mental health,” Hall said. “And they used it for their gain and sexual favor.

She added that she had no recourse in protecting herself “when the chief of police is sexually harassing you.”

“Who do you even turn to when the chief of police is sexually harassing you? How could I get justice when the entire system, including the chief, not only condoned such behavior but participated in it?” she said. “I was lost and I felt alone.”

Hall said that before the scandal went public, she “received harassing and threatening messages on my phone daily.”

“I felt like I was terrorized,” she said. “I had no one to run to and I had nowhere to go,” she said.

Hall’s Attorney Claims “She Was… A Piece Of Meat To Be Sexualized And Exploited”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the city of La Vergne told the New York Post that they do not discuss pending litigation and declined to comment on Hall’s lawsuit.

“Maegan wasn’t looked at like a rookie cop to be trained and promoted,” Hall’s lawyer, Wesley Clark, told WTVF. “She was looked at like a piece of meat to be sexualized and exploited.”

The retired NBA icon shared his commentary during a recent sit-down with People, and he started by praising EJ for “really taking charge of his career and making his own decisions.”

Whether EJ is lending his voice to The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder or looking back on his past reality TV work on Rich Kids of Beverly Hills and EJNYC, one thing’s for certain: he’s going to do his thang and get to the bag!

“I love EJ’s career. I think that EJ is really taking charge of his career and making his own decisions, and he knows how and what he wants to get into.”

Magic was also sure to point out that EJ “is so beloved all over the world,” and he also said that his son is seriously committed to “letting his voice help other people.” IKTR!

Magic Says EJ Johnson ‘Gives So Much Great Advice’ To People Who Need It: ‘I’m So Proud Of Him’

Regarding EJ Johnson and his pursuits, Magic commented that his son is ultimately all about “send[ing] the right message out there.” He also expressed that EJ is focused on reciprocating all the love and support he’s received over the years.

“He’s always saying, ‘You know what, Dad, I want to make sure everything that I do, that I enjoy it and that it sends the right message out there to my fans and the people who have always loved and supported me’”

Magic went on to proclaim, “He’s saving a lot of people’s lives and people don’t even know.” Sweetly, the former Los Angeles Lakers star also added, “I’m so proud of him.”

In terms of how EJ is helping to save people’s lives, Magic says his son “gives so much great advice” to young individuals who are trying to live their truth and embrace their identity.

“A lot of young people will call him and ask, ‘How did you come out?’ or ‘Can you help me? I haven’t told my parents,’ and man, he gives so much great advice.”

If you ask Kelsey Ashley about her earliest fashion memory, she’ll tell you it stems from her parents. Since the age of two, Ashley’s parents — her dad a photographer and her mother his muse — would dress her up in all kinds of extravagant furs and she would eventually grow up falling in love with the world of style through the pages of Vogue, Teen Vogue, and Seventeen magazine.

Years later, Ashley would find herself at the fashion capital of all HBCUs — and colleges — around the nation, Howard University. And would even go viral for her eclectic take on collegiate apparel. It was there that Ashley realized she wanted to pursue a career in styling.

[At Howard] there was this great experience of Black people really dressing up and expressing themselves through clothing… So that’s part of what drew me in.

From there, the public relations major took up a few internships in the field. But soon transitioned to her first fashion internship, assisting and styling professional athletes.

During this apprenticeship is when I realized I could have a career in something that I had been passionate about my whole life. I took what I learned through interning, and the skills that I gained in college, and I applied both to studying and breaking into the fashion industry.
