For some people fall is the period when you start ordering pumpkin flavored drinks, wearing corduroy and leaning into earthy tones. But in golf it usually signals the arrival of team competitions. Namely, the prestigious Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup, which pit the best players from the United States and Europe against one another. And you know what that means, it’s time to break out the red, white and blue.
Nike‘s opportunity to do just that has arrived via the Air Max 1 Golf. The patriotic take on the ’86 OG runner pays homage to the late September tournaments with the words “Prestige. Tradition. Passion.” inscribed on the blue insoles. Continuing the theme, metallic red coats the full length mudguards in place of the typical suede material, and a star motif decorates the toe boxes and Swooshes. Finally, a mixture of royal and navy blue accents finish off the ensemble atop the base of off-white quarter panels.
We’ll keep you updated when a release date surfaces for the pair. In the meantime, keep an eye on the Solheim Cup this weekend and the Ryder Cup at the end of the month to see if anyone turns up in a pair.
Elsewhere in golf news, Malbon Golf is looking out west for inspiration with it latest FW23 collection.
