Simone Rocha will be the next guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier.
The Irish, London-based designer will join the couturier for a one-time collection that will be shown during Paris Couture Week in January, according to a spokesperson. Rocha took to Instagram to confirm the news herself, posting an image of a bouquet of flowers from Gaultier alongside a note reading, “Congratulations on your show. And see you for your next one … in Paris!!!” Next to a small sketch of himself, Gaultier signed the card, “Jean Paul.”

After retiring in 2020, Gaultier opted to continue his legacy by inviting external designers to collaborate with his famed couturier for single-time collections. Rocha will become the sixth guest designer to join Jean Paul Gaultier, following the likes of Rabanne’s Julien Dossena, Haider Ackerman, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, Sacai’s Chitose Abe and Diesel and Y/Project’s Glenn Martens.
Rocha is fresh off the London Fashion Week stage, where she showed a romantic Spring/Summer 2024 line inside Methodist Central Hall. The designer, who graduated from Central Saint Martins and subsequently landed her designs in Dover Street Market, has made a name in fashion for her loving takes on layering and adornment. Like past JPG collaborators, Rocha will interpolate her own signature codes into those of the revered French fashioner for the upcoming couture collection.
