Returning for Fall/Winter 2023, Pièces Uniques has put together a campaign for its “Nation Du Ciel” collection. The latest seasonal range from the label serves to transcribe the archetypes of characters from an imaginary city in the sky. Each character is inspired by the primary colors of paint: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, drawing from the CMYK subtractive color model.
The “Nation Du Ciel” FW23 collection stands as an ode to designer Edmond Luu’s childhood memories, developing a tribute to the works of Jules Vernes, Castle in the Sky by Hayao Miyazaki, and the Skypiea City in One Piece by Eiichiro Oda. Pièces Uniques notes, “Each character represents a key moment in our hero’s odyssey. Pro-
jected on this celestial island, he discovers the inhabitants of this new world and composes his crew: a scientist, a zoologist, a mechanic, etc…”
The accompanying campaign sees Luu reconnect with stylist Edem Dossou to develop a narrative interpretation. The campaign showcases the layered materials of embroidered tulle, macramé, and monogram embossed leather. While expressing Edmond Luu’s dream of his clothes helping wearers overcome daily trials and feel strong like the main character of their story.
