At this point, summer is all but finished for brands as more and more fall and winter looks emerge. For Nike, this has resulted in colorways pivoting from colorful arrangements and lightweight materials to autumnal palettes. Furthering this movement, the Swoosh has brought corduroy to the Air Max 90. The Tinker Hatfield-designed sneaker continues to play a key role in Nike’s annual footwear offerings with it now reaching 32 years of age.
While several GORE-TEX makeovers have landed on the Air Max 90 recently, this fall option opts to mix things up with corduroy detailing. The upper carefully layers its materials with a white mesh base resting beneath white leather overlays and a brown corduroy panel. White leather Swooshes arrive on each side while a peachy orange outfits several of the accent panels, a portion of the Air-infused midsole and rubber outsole. Each of the Air Max 90’s signature accent panels feature its standard linework that runs parallel with similar spacing to the corduroy panel, seamlessly integrating the unique material.
For now, no information regarding the release of this corduroy Air Max 90 has been shared by the Swoosh. It’s likely to release in the coming months via Nike and select retailers.
In case you missed it, a hemp colorway of the Air Max 90 just surfaced.
