Hot off of its 70th anniversary works from last year, Moncler has served up a range of projects and collaborations that step into the future this year. However, it has now looked to its expansive archive for inspiration with the return of the Karakorum jacket. Serving as part of the brand’s RE/ICONS series — an annual celebration of reimagining past designs — 1954’s Karakorum “duvet” jacket makes its return.
The follow-up to last year’s Maya jacket campaign, the second chapter of the RE/ICONS line combines past, present and future to re-craft a classic. The original’s emphasis on warmth and technical detailing is maintained with everything from luxe down-filling to an internal suspender system for carrying. Key branding hits grace the exterior with the signature Moncler patch at the chest and a “MONCLER KARAKORUM 1954” callout at the back. Its monochromatic color options include black, blue, fuchsia, burgundy, green, grey and white.
Moncler has just launched the RE/ICONS Karakorum jacket in men’s, women’s and kids sizing via its online store and select shops worldwide. Prices start at $1,055 USD for the kids jacket and go up to $2,640 USD for the men’s short down jacket in black.
