Law Roach is starting his new chapter already.
The celebrity stylist — whose current and former clients include Zendaya, Kerry Washington, Hailee Steinfeld, Priyanka Chopra, Ariana Grande, Celine Dion and more — abruptly announced on Tuesday that he’s retiring, sending the fashion world into a meltdown.
“The politics , the lies and false narratives finally got me!” he wrote in his Instagram post sharing his decision.
And Roach is already moving on, making his runway debut as a model in the Boss show alongside Pamela Anderson, DJ Khaled, Amber Valletta and Naomi Campbell (another former client) in Miami Wednesday night.
“I am excited and nervous. And deeply grateful,” the self-appointed “Image Architect” told Vogue ahead of the show.
“I’m grateful that the Boss team sees me as more than just someone who dresses all these amazing celebrities.”
He clarified his future career plans as well, telling the outlet, “I’m not saying I’m retiring from fashion. I love fashion. I love the businesses, and I love being creative. What I’m retiring from is the celebrity styling part of it: being in service and at service of other people.”
While tons of celebrities, fellow stylists and fans flooded the comment section of Roach’s announcement post begging him to reconsider — he says the love has been “overwhelming” — the fashion pro doesn’t plan to change his mind.
“My clients are my priority, more so than my own health and happiness. And, in my mind, you know, I was [announcing my retirement] just to relieve some pressure for myself, right?” he said.
“I was riding in the car and I made a decision. I said: ‘You know what, I’ve done everything I wanted to do in this career. I’ve received all the awards, the accolades, I’ve changed people’s lives … And I just feel like I’ve had enough, you know?”
Roach added that his post “wasn’t a PR stunt,” as some speculated: “It was really me giving myself the grace to say: It’s okay. You can do something else.”
It’s unclear exactly what direction Roach will take, but he clarified on Twitter that he will not be stepping away from his epic partnership with Zendaya, whom he’s been styling for 12 years.
“So y’all really think I’m breaking up with Z…..,” Roach tweeted Wednesday. “we are forever!”
In a second tweet he added, “She’s my little sister and it’s real love not the fake industry love.”

The announcement comes after fans speculated that his retirement was due to an awkward situation at the Louis Vuitton fashion show earlier this month; in a video that made the rounds on social media, Zendaya can be seen perched in the last seat in the front row, while Roach had to sit behind her.
Besides working with Zendaya and trying his hand at modeling, Roach also judges the HBO ballroom competition show “Legendary” and serves as West Coast editor of British Vogue.
“When I made that decision yesterday, I stepped back and looked at my life and realized I don’t have anything but that career. I don’t want that to be the legacy …. So to answer your question, what I plan on doing is other things,” he told Vogue.
“I want that to be my legacy, a legacy that I really helped change people’s lives — and not just the celebrities’ by putting them in the best dress, you know?”
