After working with Junya Watanabe for both its FW23 menswear and womenswear collections, Berlin-based label Innerraum now returns with another otherworldy in-line offering. Titled the Polyphonic Object M09 Baguette Bag in “Matte Black,” the backpack/duffel features a lightweight build of soft resin and futuristically-shaped PU scales.
When worn on the back, the Baguette bag resembles a modular cyborg spine, building upon the distinct avant-garde look the brand is known for. As Inneraum puts it, “every object is experienced as an extension of the body and is a metaphor of the body itself: just like the body is made up of parts assembled together, we can experience it as our shell too.” Constructed in Italy, the entire build is said to be composed of 176 hypoallergenic pieces with adjustable double strap.
The Polyphonic Object M09 Baguette Bag is now available at select retailers globally and Innerraum flagship stores in Milan and Berlin.
