After revealing a series of vibrant Jamaican football kits earlier this year, Wales Bonner and adidas reconnect once again for a series of collaborative footwear. This season sees Bonner returning to the classic Samba and SL72 running shoe silhouettes which were featured in the duo’s popular FW20 and SS22 releases.
The upcoming pairs feature distinct design details remixed from past releases. Found in reflective gunmetal tones, an early look at the Samba includes DNA-like lace patterns over the lateral side stripes, Wales Bonner text over the lateral heel counter, and exposed stitching across the heel tab and tongue flap. The SL72 appears in a knitted design for the first time with suede overlay panels and similar branding and stitching accents. Two iterations of the runners have been revealed so far in vermillion/chocolate and green/orange with stacked sole units and serrated bottoms.
Take an early look at the Wales Bonner x adidas SL72 Knit and Samba for FW23 above and stay tuned for release details.
Elsewhere in footwear, here’s a first look at OTTO 958’s upcoming ASICS footwear series.
