Last year, the sneaker world perked up when rumors of a Nike SB x Jordan Brand project on the Air Jordan 4 came up. The two had recently presented the Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 in high-top and low-top form in 2019, following their legendary collaboration with Lance Mountain in 2014. First surfacing in February of this year, the shoe’s focal point for many was the Nike SB logo at its heel. However, upon closer inspection, there’s more to this pair than meets the eye.
As we’ve discussed previously, subtle adjustments to the sneaker offer a better skate experience. Elements such as the original ’89 shape returning combine with flexible plastic detailing, zonal gum rubber at the outsole, extra tongue padding and more. Its presentation in “Pine Green” puts white at the forefront, letting the hue cover the base while its titular shade outfits key AJ 4 parts such as its heel.
The time has finally come for the launch of Nike SB’s Air Jordan 4 “Pine Green.” Select skate shops launch the pair on March 17 with a SNKRS release scheduled for March 21 at a price of $225 USD.
