CMF Outdoor Garment Readies Hiking-Inspired 432Hz Collaboration

Ever since Hong Kong-based retailer 432Hz opened its doors in 2019, it’s had a close working relationship with Harajuku label Comfy Outdoor Garment, and to commemorate this, the pair has teamed up for a unique collaboration inspired by the world of hiking.

Under the guise of Makoto Okuya, Comfy Outdoor Garment has garnered a reputation for its fabric innovation and distinctive design in the outerwear market since its inception 25 years ago, and offers up some of its signature pieces for reinterpretation this season.

First up is the Activity shorts — a staple in the Comfy Outdoor Garment arsenal — which has become renowned for its high-capacity storage. Crafted with highly-breathable stretch polyester, each pair comes equipped with a belt system for an adjustable fit and an embroidered 432Hz logo.

A water-repellent Windbreaker shirt also makes an appearance, retaining all the functionality of its original long-sleeved design. Arriving in a slightly-oversized fit, the shirt houses an embroidered 432Hz logo and can easily fold into itself should you wish to remove it on the move.

The pair’s Approach sneakers, designed in collaboration with Tokyo footwear label PLAYGROUND JP, round out the capsule. A ripstop fabric upper is complemented by vegan leather and a water-repellent mesh fabric to create the ultimate outdoor shoe. Equipped with a Vibram rolling system to tackle uneven terrain, each sneaker is implemented with a Freelock shoelace system for added comfort and a graphic design on the heel to commemorate the three-way collaboration.

The Comfy Outdoor Garments x 432Hz collaboration is set to drop on October 16 and will be available from the 432Hz webstore in limited quantities.

In other news, The North Face has launched its first digital archive celebrating 55 years of outdoor adventure.
