Brent Faiyaz Keeps Things Toxic on New Track “WY@”

Brent Faiyaz has been dropping singles here and there in the aftermath of putting out his debut studio album, Wasteland, in July of last year. The project followed 2020’s F*ck The World EP and saw Faiyaz, who has been making music for nearly a decade, deliver his first full-length body of work.

This past May, Faiyaz returned with not quite a deluxe version of Wasteland, but rather a collection of remixes, seeing him team up with DJ Candlestick and OG Ron C. The same month, the artist was tapped by Marshmello for the song “Fell In Love.” That release was followed by a track with Coco Jones called “Moment Of Your Life.”

Faiyaz has now shared the song “WY@,” an anthem for those stuck in relationships. On the single, he ponders knowing that a relationship is toxic but finding himself unable to leave his partner.

“This ain’t what I want, this is something else/ Something that ain’t good for my health,” he sings. “I’ve been searching but I can’t get no help / I don’t feel like myself.”

Faiyaz is currently in the middle of his “F*ck The World It’s A Wasteland” tour, where he’s performing cuts from both the 2020 EP and last year’s album. The run kicked off in July and will span until the end of November.
