There’s no faking it when it comes to our love of this movie moment.
Billy Crystal re-created his iconic sweater moment from “When Harry Met Sally” to celebrate his 75th birthday.
On Tuesday, Crystal shared a snap in the timeless knitwear on Twitter, much to the delight of his devoted fans.
In the tribute tweet, Crystal crouches down in white sneakers, jeans and a preppy cream cable-knit pullover – and while it’s not the exact same style seen in the Nora Ephron-written rom-com, it certainly got the nostalgia flowing.
“Thank you all…,” the Broadway star captioned the sweet snaps, paying tribute to his character from the hit 1989 flick, Harry Burns.
Even the official Merriam-Webster Dictionary account was impressed by the throwback, tweeting, “Icon | noun | a person or thing widely admired especially for having great influence or significance in a particular sweater.”

Actor Richard Lewis celebrated Crystal, writing, “Finally, you’re my age. You’re a blessed artist. I’m proud to have started our comedic journey together.”
Fans shared their own creative takes on the sweater, with multiple people wearing cable knits and cosplaying as Crystal.

The “Princess Bride” actor shared some of his favorite re-creations with his 738,000 followers on Twitter.
Ephron’s romantic comedies have inspired fashion for decades, with many people embracing “Nora Ephron fall” in 2022.
Dressing like an Ephron-approved character involves cozy knits, linen shirts, tweed blazers and comfortable sneakers.
Three decades later, Crystal still has Ephron dressing down to an art.
