Inclement weather can’t keep Anthony Haden-Guest from celebrating.
The journalist was set to be presented with a life-sized portrait of himself last week at UEast Gallery by David Richardson, the artist, veteran and current assistant secretary for the Department of Homeland Security’s Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office.
Unfortunately Richardson — whose art career has been profiled in the New York Times — couldn’t make the trip from DC due to the weather, but guests still celebrated. We’re told the bash turned into a fete over the sale of Guest’s cartoons this week in a Sotheby’s auction as part of the Christo collection “Unwrapped, Part II: The Hidden World of Christo and Jeanne-Claude.”
Douglas Dechert hosted the bash, and guests included politician Daby Carreras and host and nightlife vet Noel Ashman.
