Afropop Artist Adekunle Gold Shares First Release via Def Jam, “Party No Dey Stop”

Adekunle Gold is commemorating inking a deal with Def Jam Records with a new track. “Party No Dey Stop” is an upbeat Afropop song about being resilient and rising to the top of the music industry.

For the single, Gold tapped fellow Lagos native Zinoleesky. An accompanying visual pits the two artists, who both grew up in the lively Agege neighborhood, together in the recording studio. Kel-P, meanwhile, served as the producer of “Party No Dey Stop.”

“When we pop / Yeah we up / Plenty spending / Like it’s nothing,” Gold triumphantly chants on the track.

The song kicks off what will be a year-long campaign for Gold. His fifth studio album is set to drop this summer, though an exact date has yet to be announced. Following the LP release, the Nigerian artist will embark on a four-month global tour, hitting major cities across North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South America and the Caribbean, carrying on through 2024.
